The purpose of our study is to investigate how in-home therapy for the arm and hand can improve function after stroke.

If you choose to participate, you will be examined at UC Irvine 7 times over 3 months and receive a brain MRI scan. If you are eligible, you will be provided with therapy devices and instructed in how to use them 7 days/week, for 4 weeks. Some of these therapy days will be monitored by a physical or occupational therapist using a webcam. This therapy will be combined with a dopamine drug that has been shown in some studies to improve the effects of rehabilitation.

There is no charge to you or your insurance company and there is no payment for participation. All equipment will be provided and set-up in your home by one of our staff.

The goal of our study is to hopefully help improve arm and hand function in stroke patients and the find the best therapies for stroke survivors.
